This story is all about a girl who has a brother with special needs. It tells the story of how she is faced with cruel comments and gains attention she does not invite while walking to school with her brother. It highlights how being different is most difficult to deal with while you are young and how your peer group can be quite unforgiving. Although by the end of the story it leaves a more sensitive and balanced view to Jesse’s differences. “Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in his shoes”.
