The Dragon Machine, by Helen Wood

A beautifully illustrated and magical story about a boy called George, who lived in a world where dragons were his very best, albeit quite mischievous friends. In the same way an imaginary friend can be anything you want them to be, George created quite a special existence. There is a sadness when George takes his dragons back to their homeland and feels a huge loss. His parents buy him a dog to cheer him up, however this dog is no ordinary dog, or is George using his gifted imagination once again?
